A year of laughter, a year of fun, Grayson you are a WILD ONE!

One thing I had all my family members do for Grayson’s first birthday was write a letter for him to open on his 18th birthday! Thanks to my creative Instagram pal Chelsae, my husband and I completed a short interview for him to read in the future. We answered the questions on our own individually and then discussed our responses with one another.  I have provided the interview below!

Dad’s Interview

Favorite memory with Grayson: taking him camping

Favorite activity you do with Grayson: playing with him the the playroom

# 1 baby item: Police Car

One thing you’ve mastered: Changing dirty diapers

One thing you still need to work on: Having patience with him

One thing you miss the most about life before Grayson: Being able to go on dates whenever we wanted

Hours of time spent googling what is wrong: 0. Nothing is ever wrong

Best advice for a brand new parent: It gets better

What you wish you knew before having a baby: How expensive formula and diapers are

Grayson is his father’s son because… He looks identical

Grayson is his mother’s son because… He is super smart

Biggest challenge over this past year: Getting him to walk

Favorite baby stage (within the first year): About two-three months in when he started sleeping 12 hours a night

One thing you wish for your son: I hope we give him the best life we can!

Mom’s Interview

Favorite memory with Grayson: The moment he came into this world

Favorite activity you do with Grayson: reading books in the playroom and reciting words

# 1 baby item: Regalo My Play

One thing you’ve mastered: getting over my fear of germs

One thing you still need to work on: allowing him to have independent play

One thing you miss the most about life before Grayson: Date nights and endless road trips. Luckily he loves to travel and has been a trooper on our adventures!

Hours of time spent googling what is wrong: 1 hundred thousand million

Best advice for a brand new parent: Give yourself grace

What you wish you knew before having a baby: This is a hard one. I don’t think anything prepared me for the amount of attachment I would feel.

Grayson is his father’s son because… he looks just like him

Grayson is his mother’s son because… he is wild and loves to explore

Biggest challenge over this past year: I think I often expect too much from him developmentally and have to refrain from challenging him all the time.

Favorite baby stage (within the first year): Post nap cuddles

One thing you wish for your son: That he always has courage and is kind to others

Questions we asked our family members:

  • Favorite memory with Grayson
  • Favorite word he says
  • Favorite photo of Grayson: (describe the photo)
  • Favorite nickname for Grayson
  • Grayson’s best quality

This was such a fun activity for my husband and I to complete together. It was also awesome to hear from our family and listen to their perspective. Feel free to do this for your little one and mention us in your entry!

  1. What a great idea! Love that the best advice for new parents that you both said were “it gets better” and “give yourself grace.” I just feel like those two are really the greatest advice that people can give new parents. Happiest of birthdays to your beautiful baby boy!
